Super exciting headline, right?!
After years of watching our public lands dwindle, the US government is putting it right.
The House recently voted to protect millions of acres across the US as part of President Biden’s 30 by 30 Movement. This ambitious decree is Biden’s effort to fight the current climate crisis by protecting 30% of the US’ water and land resources by 2030. While this first legislation doesn’t quite reach this goal (not even close), it’s still a big step in the right direction.
States included in this sweeping action are Colorado, Arizona, Utah, and Washington.
Not only does this bill make conservationists all warm and fuzzy inside, it’ll create recreation jobs, protect communities that depend on public lands for water and resources, and help fight the climate crisis.
