Episode #174 Summary

June is the month to celebrate our oceans and the incredible creatures they support. This Sunday is World Sea Turtle Day, and we’re joining the ocean fun by revisiting conversations with two amazing conservationists: Brad Nahill, the President and Co-founder of SEE Turtles, and Christine Figgener, PhD, Vice President and Founder of COASTS.

Brad and Chris are sea turtle experts who have been working in this field for decades combined. Brad co-founded SEE Turtles in 2008 as the world’s first effort to protect sea turtles through ecotourism. SEE Turtles is also a registered non-profit that raises a substantial amount of money to continue sea turtle conservation efforts. Chris is a sea turtle biologist who’s been studying these fascinating creatures since 2007 and has spent many years working in Costa Rica, trying to further understand and protect sea turtles.

Both Brad and Chris are open, wonderful people who weren’t afraid to explore all aspects of this field—the good, the bad, the informative, and the enlightening.
